Instructions for Use

Plug in the power supply to turn it on; LED1 will remain lit, and LED2 will be off. During testing, a regular flashing of LED2 indicates that the optocoupler is communicating. When performing in-circuit testing, never test while the circuit is live. If the main capacitor retains any charge, it must be discharged before use! On the horizontal board, the pin marked with a white circle is Pin 1. If LED2 flashes regularly, the optocoupler is functional. Since optocouplers serve different functions in circuits, slight flashing is generally considered acceptable. If the optocoupler pins are rusty, clean them beforehand. If the LED remains constantly on or off, remove the component and test it offline to determine its condition.

Two offline test pads are provided: one for through-hole components and one for surface-mount components. The white dot on each pad indicates Pin 1. To test offline, simply place the optocoupler on the test pad and gently press it with tweezers. Soldering on the test pads is not recommended.
