Aermotor 12V-24V Car Relay Tester & Auto Diagnostic Tool
Diagnose Car Relay Problems in Seconds — No Guesswork, No Mechanic Bills
A faulty relay can kill your car's lights, wipers, starter, A/C, power windows, anti-lock brakes, or audio system without warning. The Aermotor 12V–24V Automotive Relay Tester lets you pinpoint a bad relay in minutes, right in your driveway — no expensive diagnostic visits required. Simply clip it to your car battery, plug in the relay, press TEST, and let the red/green LED tell you exactly what's going on.
Made in Mainland China.
Why Relay Testing Matters
Modern vehicles rely on dozens of relays to control critical electrical systems. Heat, vibration, moisture, and age degrade relay contacts over time. A single failed relay can paralyze an entire system — or leave you stranded. Regular relay checks catch problems early, before they become costly breakdowns. Key Features
- Wide voltage range: Works with 12V and 24V vehicle systems — cars, trucks, SUVs, and commercial vehicles
- Supports 4-pin & 5-pin relays: Selectable pin-mode switch covers the vast majority of automotive relays
- 10-cycle contact test: Opens and closes the relay 10 times to check closure time, opening time, and contact consistency
- Instant LED readout: Green LED = relay passed; Red LED = relay failed or pin mismatch
- Alternator & battery check capability: Assess your battery and charging system health on the spot
- CE certified: Meets European safety and electromagnetic compatibility standards
- Compact & portable: Lightweight at just 200g — fits in any toolbox or glove compartment
- No batteries needed: Powered directly by the vehicle battery via alligator clips
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Connect the black alligator clip to the battery's negative (–) terminal and the red alligator clip to the positive (+) terminal. The Red LED will illuminate to confirm power.
- Check whether your relay is a 4-pin or 5-pin type and set the selector switch accordingly.
- Plug the relay into one of the three receptacles on the tester.
- Press the "TEST" button. The tester will automatically verify pin configuration, run 10 open/close cycles, and check contact consistency.
- Read the result: Green = Good, Red = Faulty.
- Disconnect the alligator clips from the battery and remove the relay when testing is complete.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What types of automotive relays does this relay tester support?
A: The Aermotor relay tester supports both 4-pin and 5-pin automotive relays, which covers the vast majority of relays used in cars, trucks, SUVs, and commercial vehicles. Simply select the correct pin setting on the tester before inserting the relay.
Q: Do I need to remove the relay from the car to test it?
A: Yes. You remove the relay from its socket in the fuse/relay box, then plug it directly into the Aermotor tester while the tester is connected to the vehicle battery. This ensures an accurate, isolated test of the relay's contact function and response time.
Q: What does it mean when the Red LED lights up during testing?
A: A Red LED indicates one of three things: (1) the relay's pin configuration does not match standard automotive relay patterns, (2) one or more pins are damaged or destroyed, or (3) the relay's contact closure/opening time exceeded the acceptable limit. In any of these cases, the relay should be replaced.
Q: Is this tester compatible with both 12V passenger cars and 24V commercial trucks?
A: Yes. The Aermotor relay tester is designed to work with vehicle electrical systems ranging from 12V to 24V, making it suitable for standard passenger cars as well as larger commercial trucks and buses.
Q: Does the tester also check the alternator and battery?
A: Yes. In addition to testing relays, this diagnostic tool can help you assess the condition of your car battery and alternator, giving you a broader picture of your vehicle's electrical system health.
