Copper Heat Sink & Thermal Pad for Steam Deck M.2 2230 SSD
Copper Heat Sink with Thermal Silicone Pad for Steam Deck M.2 2230 SSD
Keep your Steam Deck running cool and performing at its best with this precision-engineered red copper heat sink. Designed specifically for the M.2 2230 SSD slot in the Steam Deck, this compact radiator features an antioxidant-treated copper surface paired with a high-performance 5W/m.K thermal silicone pad to maximize heat dissipation and extend your SSD's lifespan.
Why Choose This Heat Sink?
- Premium Red Copper Construction: Made from high-purity red copper with a thermal conductivity of 401 W/(m·K) — far superior to standard aluminum alternatives. Chemically polished and milled to remove burrs, preventing short circuits and ensuring a flush, secure fit.
- Antioxidant Surface Treatment: Multi-stage grinding and oxidation-resistance processing means the surface won't rust, darken, or corrode over time — and it resists fingerprints too.
- High-Performance Thermal Interface: Bundled 5W/m·K thermal conductive silicone pads are soft, resilient, and form a tight bond with SSD particles, eliminating air gaps and ensuring rapid, consistent thermal transfer to the heat sink fins.
- Precision-Sized for M.2 2230: Measures approximately 26 × 23 mm (1.02 × 0.90 in) — precisely calculated to fit the compact M.2 2230 footprint inside the Steam Deck without installation deviation or risk of short circuits.
- Complete Installation Kit Included: Everything you need is in the box — no extra tools required.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide
- Power down your Steam Deck and disconnect all cables.
- Remove the 8 rear screws (four 9.5mm + four 5.8mm) using a Phillips screwdriver and keep them safe.
- Pry open the rear cover by inserting the lifting blade along the right-grip seam and gently releasing the clips.
- Remove the protective plate by unscrewing three screws (one 3.4mm + two 3.7mm).
- Remove the existing SSD by unscrewing its retaining screw and carefully pulling it from the slot.
- Apply the heat sink: Peel the protective film from both the thermal pad and heat sink. Press the pad onto the SSD chip surface, align the copper heat sink, and press it firmly into place.
- Reinstall the SSD with heat sink into the M.2 slot and tighten the securing screw.
- Reattach the protective cover, align it to the screw holes, and replace all three screws.
- Clip the rear cover back onto the body and reinstall all 8 rear screws. You're done!
