Cannot weld copper or aluminum surfaces. Cannot weld rusted surfaces. Smooth stainless steel surfaces can be welded normally.

Some batteries have one stainless steel electrode and one aluminum electrode. Our spot welder can weld the stainless steel electrode. The aluminum electrode requires ultrasonic welding. Please take note.

Again, aluminum electrodes and copper electrodes cannot be welded.

Common cylindrical batteries like 18650 and 32650 can be welded. Both pins must be firmly pressed against the nickel strip to initiate welding. Lift the pins before welding the next point.

Instructions:

Spot Welding Nickel Strips:

1. Battery must be fully charged. Fully charged only. Nickel strip thickness must not exceed 0.15mm.

2. Control pressure during welding. Heavier pressure reduces heat output; lighter pressure increases heat. However, too light pressure may puncture the plate, while excessive force may cause poor bonding. Apply moderate pressure without excessive force.

3. Ensure the battery surface is smooth and polished, removing oxidation layers and irregularities. If the welding tip becomes oxidized and blackened, polish it smooth with fine sandpaper.

4. Use the very tip of the pen for welding to ensure a stronger bond.

Welding Method:

Hold the welding tip at a 60° angle to the horizontal plane. Press both needle tips firmly against the nickel strip surface to ensure good contact. Current flows from one needle tip to the other, melting the nickel strip with high current to successfully weld the battery to the strip.
