How to Choose the Right Strength
By Curl Type:
- Lightly wavy hair → 0% (Formaldehyde-Free)
- Normal curly hair → 5% Formalin
- Deep curly hair → 8% Formalin
- Very tightly coiled hair → 12% Formalin
By Region:
- Middle East / South America → 5% or 8% Formalin recommended
- Africa → 8% or 12% Formalin recommended
How to Use
- Cleanse: Wash hair twice (chemically-treated) or three times (virgin hair) with the PURC Purifying Shampoo. Blow-dry to 100% dry.
- Apply: Shake the keratin bottle well, pour 2–3 oz into a bowl, wear gloves, and apply evenly through sectioned hair using a brush.
- Process: Cover with a cap. Allow 20 minutes for chemically-treated or fine hair; 30 minutes for coarse or resistant hair. Blow-dry completely.
- Flat Iron: Divide hair into 4 sections. Using a flat iron at 450°F (230°C), take 1/8-inch sections and slowly pass the iron root-to-tip 5–7 times (7–10 times for very coarse curls). Lower to 430°F (200°C) for chemically-treated hair.
- Set: Do not wash hair for 3 days to allow the keratin to fully set. After 3 days, wash with the PURC After-Treatment Shampoo and Conditioner (sodium chloride-free).

- Always use in a well-ventilated area with windows and fans open.
- Avoid contact with scalp, eyes, nose, and mouth. Rinse with water immediately if accidental contact occurs.
- A flat iron is required to achieve smoothing results.
