How to Use Your Soldering Iron Safely

1. Clean the parts to be joined and ensure they are free of oxidation.
2. Clean the soldering iron tip and "tin" all faces of the tip with a light coating of solder.
3. Heat the parts (not the solder directly) to the desired joining temperature.
4. Apply flux-core solder to the heated parts until solder melts and flows freely.
5. Always use the included stand when resting the iron. Allow to cool fully before storing.
6. Note: A small amount of smoke from the tip on first use is normal and will stop shortly — ensure good ventilation.
